Because I don't have enough to read...

Someone on my NBC board the other day mentioned this awesome website that is going to serve to further my addiction to the literary world. It is called Literature-Map. Basically, you go to this site and type in the name of a favorite author. The map that is created shows you a whole bunch of other authors that you might also enjoy.

I will give you an example.

One of my favorite authors is Susan Wiggs. When I type her name into the website, I get a list of almost 50 other authors that the map thinks I would enjoy. Some of these are authors I already read and enjoy, such as Nicholas Sparks, Debbie Macomber, Luanne Rice, Jude Deveraux, Kristin Hannah, and Robin Cook. Some of them are authors I have heard of but not read, such as Ann Rice, Diana Gabaldon, and Emilie Richards. And some of them are authors I have never heard of but would probably enjoy, like Lisa Kleypas, Emma Holly, and Jilliane Hoffman.

Not everyone has 50 other authors mapped to his or her name. For example, when I check on Thea Devine's name to see her literature map, there are only about 20 names shared with me. When I click on Emilie Richards, there are only eight names shared. Another nice feature is that each author in a map is a clicky link, so you can click on each name to see that person's literature map.

I sometimes come to the point where I dramatically state that I have NOTHING to read. What I mostly mean is that I have read all the new releases of my usual favorites and don't know how to find something new. However, this literature map might help. It certainly can't hurt! And now I will have a new weapon at my disposal before I head out to Barnes & Noble to browse their selections...and a little direction so that my visit there doesn't take as long as usual.

Happy reading!
