I wanna be like Dooce when I grow up...

I give you this...

I had a message about a month ago from the offices of Glamour magazine, asking if they could have permission to publish a letter I had written after reading an article about Dooce and some other bloggers in their January issue. Of course, I was more than happy to give them permission, but before they could publish it, I had to tell them what the topic was to verify my identity.

I had not a clue.

The helpful editor tried to prompt me, saying, "Well, it's something you do on-line."

Well, for the love of God, people, what do I not do on-line? I met my fiance on-line. I converse daily with my Diamonds Girls (none of whom I have ever met in person) on-line. I play Sudoku (NEW ADDICTION ALERT!!) on-line. I read the news on-line. I spend a lot of time on-line.

My next line went something like this..."Hmmm, something I do on-line..." Notice how I didn't want to confess to the aforementioned spending-way-too-much-of-my-life-on-line thing. I think I avoided it nicely.

Her next prompt was, "Well, you do this often, and it's something that is just yours."

Well, WTF, lady...again with the no help.

And then it came to me. "Blogging! It was blogging! It was Dooce and blogging!"

And that, my friends, is how I made it into Glamour magazine...

Congrats on making "Glamour." I'm officially jealous.

Sudoku side note. My husband downloaded the USA Today daily sudoku to my cell phone (unlimited for about 8 bucks). Now I'll be kept busy in waiting rooms and boring meetings alike!
