Take the night off...

So I don't have nights off too often. But tonight, thanks to the fact that I skipped a meeting that I was pondering going to, I have about seven glorious hours with which to do nothing. It's fantastic. A Responsible Student would be studying for the exam she has tomorrow night. But I have all day tomorrow too...so that can wait until then.

I got home from work at about 4:00 PM and changed right into my PJs. I immediately planted myself on the couch and watched the news, followed by Dr. Phil, followed by Martha. And then I got a little antsy, so I headed off to the Blogosphere to catch up with my friends. In between all this, I started reading three different books (re-reads) and put each one down within the first three chapters. I ate some chili, some crackers, and some Hershey's Kisses. I rubbed some self-tanner on my shoulders and back (yes, my own back...it's talent) to try to get rid of the bathing suit strap marks that will be glaringly obvious this weekend when I am wearing my strapless bridesmaid dress. And they are Speedo straps...not spaghetti straps.

This happens when I have nights off. I want to fit in everything I have been missing out on during the busy, busy week. There are TV shows to watch! There are magazines to read! There is chocolate to eat!

Now, I am heading upstairs to knit. And eat more chocolate. It's going to be a long night. And that's how I like it...
