Well, this is kind of cool...

I awoke this morning to an e-mail from Karen White, the author who wrote two of the books I raved about on my Fall Into Reading wrap-up post. It seems she had been googling her name and came across my blog post. Here's what she had to say...

"Hi!

I was just googling my name and came across your blog.

I'm the author of The Color of Light and Learning to Breathe and thank you so much for reading them and then blogging about them!

I, too, love to scrapbook and also love to read (and write) books set near water. You might be interested in my book Pieces of the Heart (2006) which takes place on a lake in the NC mountains as well as my March 2008 book, The Memory of Water, which is set in the South Carolina lowcountry on the coast in McClellanville, SC. The cover has a beautiful beach scene--check it out on my website www.karen-white.com.

If you'd like to be notified of when I have a new book out, please sign up here: Karen White, Author : Join Mailing List.

Thanks again, and happy reading!

Warm regards,
Karen White"

Well, you could have just knocked me over with a feather! This made my weekend! And I loved her books so much that I am, of course, going to want to read anything new as soon as it comes out, so as soon as I am done blogging about this, I am heading over to join her mailing list!

I love the Blogosphere!

I am a marketing cynic and as such would be really surprised if she actually wrote that rather than a member of the marketing team at her publishing company. It just reads so much like ad copy and not what you would write about your own books. But who knows. Maybe I'm wrong.

While I do agree that it was probably hardly her, especially with the extra plug I guess it was still nice to get the email.

And they got you to join the mailing list! Their job is done.

I will have to check out some of the books you have listed, as a writer (aspiring writer) I read WAAAAAY too litte. *ashamed*
