The Fine Art of Procrastination

Sometimes (okay, almost ALL THE TIME), I tend to procrastinate a little bit when it comes to schoolwork. I always make sure that I have the time to do it, and I always get it done, but I find that I work better and with more diligence when I have a deadline breathing down my neck. It's just the way I work.

Today, I have a rather large project that I am working on, and it is due in my professor's hands tomorrow in the rather-early afternoon. I procrastinated once again, and the write-up that has to be done is taking me much of this lovely (which, actually, it's raining, so make that not lovely) day, and it will also take up some of my time tomorrow. You know, until I have to go turn it in. This is MISERABLE!

Anyway, gotta go...the deadline is breathing harder, and I need to shut it up!

I was the same way as an undergraduate. I still procrastinate as a professor. I think that a lot of us do. I still need to organize tomorrow's lecture. Sigh.

I'm the exact same way as you, I wait until the very last minute, I was like this in high school and college, even exams, I'd study the day of the exam, I just couldn't see myself spending a week on studying! But when I'm spending a whole day doing the project, I always wish I worked on it earlier and then I declare I'll do that on the next one, but it never happens!!

Anyway good luck on getting it done!

Ugh! I shudder to remember my days as a student, when I experienced the same thing. My situation was so bad that I ended up staying up all night most nights before exams...at least in my law school days. Egad. I feel for ya, sister. Good luck!!!

Well, I know you're working hard as a nursing student. But I'm sorta that way. But when I know I have a lot of stuff to do I try and start early because I hate to be all frazzled and trying to get things done and friends and family around me are all relaxed and hanging out and going out and I'm losing my mind.

It's not a good feeling when I have 20 things due in 11 minutes and I can't sympathize with anyone but me.

I am in the same position RIGHT NOW.

(and I'm, uh, reading your blog...).

I'm so with you - no point getting started until you can barely make the deadline.
